Profile
The Canadian Centre for Emergency Preparedness (CCEP) was incorporated in 1993 as a federal, not-for-profit organization that is also independent and self-funding. The Centre is based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and has evolved into one of the foremost organizations in Canada specializing in emergency planning, business continuity and emergency health.
Through its affiliations and partnerships, it has gained recognition in North America and around the world. CCEP's clients include government organizations at the municipal and federal levels, hospitals, educational institutions and businesses across Canada, the United States as well as overseas.
Mission
CCEP's mandate is to assist communities, governments and private business to prepare for, prevent, respond to, and recover from man-made or natural disasters. CCEP does not directly compete with existing training providers or business continuity and disaster recovery consultants.
Services
CCEP provides training and support services in three main areas: - Business Continuity Planning: To provide training and education in business continuity planning; mentoring programs are offered to clients who require CCEP's expertise and assistance in developing, evaluating or testing business continuity plans.
- Emergency Management: To develop municipal emergency plans and contingency plans; provide training to personnel involved in the actual implementation of these plans; develop test exercises and provide support to maintain and update existing plans.
- Emergency Health Care: This is CCEP's newest field. CCEP's vision is to develop a network of emergency medical professionals and educators providing initial and continuing education, consulting services, service management and delivery.
